In 2014 Instagram was the fastest growing social network in the world, which is not a surprise to those of us that love to use Instagram to share photos of food. Coincidentally, in 2014 the most requested feature for the MyFab5 iPhone and Android apps was the ability to attach Instagram photos to your restaurant rankings. For those of you that don't know, MyFab5 is an app that helps you find and share rankings of the best food in any city (e.g. best sushi in San Diego).
So many Instagram photos have been attached to MyFab5 rankings that our team decided to count the total number of Instagram photos that were geotagged at restaurants in San Diego in 2014. To keep things fair we only counted geotagged Instagram photos that are owned by public accounts and only counted up to 25 photos per Instagram user.
Another thing we would like to mention is that the most Instagrammed restaurants are not necessarily 'the best' restaurants. Some restaurants get a lot of photos because of their location or atmosphere while other amazing restaurants do not get many photos due to their dim lighting or expensive prices. Regardless, this is an interesting list that is sure to make you hungry!
