Warm Up to These 3 Flaming Desserts in San Diego

As the days get shorter and the nights become cooler, nothing quite casts a glow and warms you up like a fire. But what if instead of sitting next to the fire, it's your dessert that's doing the sparking? At these three San Diego restaurants, the flame meets dessert in spectacular ways. From Baked Alaska to s’mores to bananas foster, they also make a pretty delicious ending to a meal and a night.

Bananas Foster at Eddie V’s

Steak and seafood headline the menu, but as equally captivating and delicious is the restaurant's take on bananas foster ($12). Save room for dessert because this decadent after–meal treat was built for at least two. Sliced bananas layered on top of rich butter cake get a douse of rum before a server sets it aflame, crisping up the cake in the process. Two scoops of Niederfrank’s pecan ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream complement the warm cake. Find this dessert at both the La Jolla and The Headquarters locations.
