To add on to the holiday festivities, throughout the month of December, The Headquarters at Seaport District is hosting a three-week fundraising and donation program to benefit USO San Diego’s holiday programs which benefit local active-duty military families.
Give to those who give the most.
Did you know that each year, the USO helps thousands of military families in need of food, shelter, clothes, and more?
Now, you can help too by purchasing a new, unwrapped toy or gift card for children up to age 18 and drop it off at The Headquarters Giving Tree. This is one purchase you won’t regret.
The Giving season kicks off at 6:30 pm on November 28th at our “Giving Tree” lighting ceremony at the Headquarters at Seaport District and will continue until December 24th. So, you’ll have all month to reach out and make someone in the military very happy.
“We’ve got several stores that could help you do that, if you haven’t got something on hand when you get here hopefully you will be inspired and go into Geppetto’s or Urban Beach and get something for these kids,” said Terry Hall, general manager of The Headquarters.
Beyond toys, monetary donations are also being accepted at The Giving Tree. Funds collected will be put to good use this holiday season.
“The holiday season can be an especially difficult time for our community, and programs like the Giving Tree really make a difference for military families,” said Judy Forrester, president and CEO of USO San Diego. “We are so thankful for everyone’s contributions, and hope San Diegans will come out to support our troops and their families at The Headquarters this holiday season.”
Get out there, and make a difference in your community, San Diego!
